Fort Minor: Where’d you go

Fort Minor is een project van Mike Shinoda die we allemaal (toch?) kennen van Linkin Park. Hij doet dit hip-hop achtige project naast de alternatieve rock van Linkin Park. Twee behoorlijk verschillende stijlen dus

Al zijn er natuurlijk wel overeenkomsten te noemen.

Where’d you go gaat vermoed ik over een relatie op lange afstand waarbij de een haar of zijn carrière eigenlijk belangrijker vind dan de relatie. Terwijl de ander thuis wacht op een telefoontje en het hele leven begint te draaien om dat je bijvoorbeeld niet van je telefoon wil weglopen omdat je bang bent het telefoontje te missen, of het mailtje of wat dan ook.

Je begint excuses te verzinnen waarom het de ander nu weer niet gelukt is om even wat van zich te laten horen tot je het op een gegeven moment zat wordt en de bubbel uit elkaar barst… En de ander zich moet afvragen “Waar is hij/zij heen?”

Dit is het nummer waar ik Holly Brook “gevonden” heb waar ik het gisteren over had. Maar het is zeker geen nummer om op te zetten als je je al wat down voelt omdat het toch een trieste inslag heeft.
